Is a UX specialist in demand?

I work as a web designer, junior, six months experience. From the beginning of the moment of studying design, I sympathized with the UX component, studied the UX component more from books and in the future, I would like to become a purposeful UX specialist. How much is it in demand in isolation from the UI? In dreams, of course, to stand behind the board on which the prototype is drawn and do research, but in practice, how popular is it? I understand that the top places of Microsoft, Apple are all there, but if you compare the Russian market and the European one, is there such a demand? Thank you!

such a position is available in large companies, where it is possible to allocate a separate position for this. But juniors are unlikely to be accepted there. Since the position is rare, then candidates can be selected and will be taken with the greatest experience and stack. So you have to be damned good at the topic and have something to show in support.
it's not about anything. Be patient. At least in a couple of years you can think about it. Here is a rough plan of what and in what sequence you need to master: https://github.com/togiberlin/ui-ux-designer-roadm...

I have been working as an interface designer for 10 years. There are vacancies in Moscow, but over the past couple of years, due to the emergence of more UI / UX designers, product designers and other related professions, the average price tag has fallen. Everywhere a generalist is required, that is, someone who has worked in all industries, perfectly understands how everything works and how a designer is ready to offer an ideal solution in a short time, so as not to redo it later, therefore, there should be great responsibility and great trust in such a specialist.
When setting up, most firms ask for the specific skills they need, as well as links to your past projects and that they be of high quality. Where to get these is still a big question, since projects are not always possible to show, and in most offices the final decision on implementation is made by the boss, and not the designer himself. The task of the designer is in such a way as to make the interface of the highest quality, so that no one even has questions about why or why they did it, but it was immediately convenient and understandable without prompts and explanations.
In other cities, there may be 1-3 vacancies. So far, the profession is still rare, since few can afford a separate specialist in this area, and usually programmers are engaged in these tasks in small offices, and designers in larger ones. Yes, and any designer still comes to the conclusion that you need to be able to create a beautiful UI yourself, prototypes are no longer enough.
I recommend reading the book: https://habr.com/ru/company/piter/blog/277325/

open Yandex, look for sites like hh.ru and look at requests. At the same time, you will understand what you are missing and train yourself.

In Russia and Europe, generalists are needed that can do both ui and ux. Going for UX alone is a bad idea in terms of prospects.

From practice I can say. Saw Shura, she is golden! ))) We will have such a direction for a long time at the level of the toilet bowl ((Not because of specialists, but because of customers. But of course there is a chance to develop.

The short answer is No. It is
very difficult to sell such a service, especially with half a year of experience. If you have 5 years of experience and there are cool cases in your portfolio, then your opinion will be listened to, otherwise everything that you offer in the eyes of the customer will mean nothing.

In my understanding, there are 3 specializations: research, design (let's say this one is called ux), visual style. In another scenario, there is no designer as such, because otherwise it includes neighboring specializations. I’ve been designing tirfaces for 8 years, I almost don’t touch the visual style, I focus on task analysis, designing wireframes. This comes in situations: process automation, complex subject area. In these situations, it is more important to make it work, the visual style is not a priority. Well, the studies are also shown to the designer. I hope it helped.

Only in large companies. Small studios either can't afford it, or simply screwed up User Friendly and riveted consumer goods.
