Is a tablet running slow without a battery?

There is a tablet without a battery. I read on the Internet that you can throw the power supply directly to the board. And so he did. The block was taken from the D-Link 2500U router. Its parameters are 5V 1A. I've been using it all day, it works, it doesn't get very hot (at least not stronger than with a battery). But then I noticed that he began to slow down. There were delays. When I run some applications (the same antutu), they close by themselves with an error. What do you advise me? Is it a weak power supply or vice versa strong? I read today on the forums that you can throw one or two capacitors of about 2200 microfarads in parallel to charging.
PS: I bought a new tablet a year and a half ago for 500 UAH. There is no point in buying a battery now. Thanks for the help!

The maximum battery voltage is 4.2 volts. 5 is a lot! You're lucky it's still working. 1 ampere in peak loads is not enough for a tablet, but this usually causes a restart of the device. If you don’t want to spend money, then put an element from any smartphone. Only it will be necessary to solder the element to the board (if there was one) from the native battery.

The Globex Gu701R tablet is charging from a d-link 5V 1A switch, soldered directly to a dead battery, since there is a charge controller so as not to kill the tablet.
It turns on normally, when you start heavy files or applications, there is a power drawdown and then the screen flickers, then turns off, then the firmware flies.
I took another power supply, now everything is normal = it gives out 3.8-4.1V and about 1.5A
Works normally.
So change the PSU and you will be happy
. Oh, and yes, Vladimir Zatsepin correctly said a maximum of 4.2V, so if you have a power controller on the board itself, then you are lucky, I only have it on a dead battery.
