Is a modern RAM suitable for an old computer?

The computer has a motherboard with 2 slots for 2010 RAM - ASRock N68C-S_UCC ... The processor is also 2010 - AMD Athlon II X3 450 ..
The RAM costs 2GB DDR2 .. You need to install another bar ... Will DDR3 work or just DDR2?

Only DDR2
In general, you can find an image of DDR2 and DDR3 - you can clearly see that even physically the connectors are different

P.s. 2010 is already a rarity - I would not invest in its upgrade - a waste of money
