DDoS Protection

Is a home Internet channel suitable for filtering ddos traffic?

There is a non-commercial site on a virtual hosting under ddos, there is no money for protection. There is also a home Internet channel at 32 Mbps, which, like, can block an attack with its capacity.

How idiotic is it to put your home ip in public and proxy cleared traffic from it to the site? We consider the problems of a home Internet provider to be insignificant.

Goals:
1) save the site
2) try filtering on the knee
3) fun

If there is no money for protection, then it is not an idiotic idea at all. Better than doing nothing and losing the audience. It's worth a try.
Does your ISP limit you on packets per second?

Please note that many providers indicate download speed as speed, in your case, upload speed will also be important. And if the provider is honest and upload = download, then of course it's worth a try.

IMHO, a home canal will fall. And you'll be lucky if the wire does not chop off the IP.

the idea is completely idiotic. The provider configures its equipment based on a specific usage model. It's probably even spelled out somewhere in the rules for the provision of services. If you violate this and the provider notices, then he will simply turn off the Internet for you - and that's it.
It is clearly written in my contract that I cannot run any public services on my computer.

Hmm ...
We are waiting for the question “is an iPhone 5 with 3G Internet suitable for creating a CDN?”

If you are doing this for fun, why do you need permission from habr?
Just do it, it seems to me to set up proxying in time comparable to asking a question on Habré.

This is the best idea! I wonder what will come of it, be sure to try it! It would be extremely interesting to read a report on the results.

Does the hosting provider say anything about this?

How much white traffic does your site generate?
And how much flood pour?
