iPad and ODF (ods). How to make friends?

A friend has a problem. I bought an iPad (contrary to my recommendations, my husband fell for the brand at the suggestion of sellers). The main purpose of the purchase was the possibility of mobile viewing of office documents, primarily spreadsheets (.ods) in Dropbox. I installed 3 or 4 free viewers for it, in which support was declared (and found), but none of them could show even the simplest table with Russian text in the cell, not to mention real ones (some hung stupidly, others crashed, others showed only numbers) , but you need to look at the tables at 10 + meters.
Who faced? How to decide? Buying an application for 20 dollars is not a problem, but if it also fails, then I will have personal problems.

docs.google.com seems to work on the iPad, there is Google Drive for iOS, you can try this bundle
