Internal USB ports?
As far as I know, there are unsoldered USB ports inside many laptops on the motherboard. Similarly, there are soldered USBs, but not brought out, but used by internal devices (webcam, bluetooth), and so on: Example for Eee PC
Are there motherboard manuals on the Internet that help to find such ports? Has anyone tried to find and use such ports on arbitrary laptop motherboards on their own?

USB can often also be taken from the miniPCIexpress connector, if there is one free or unsoldered. You can just solder to the pads or use an adapter, search on ebay for the keywords "mini pci usb"
Almost never found in modern beeches. The only thing is a unified board for an expensive and cheap model. On the first there are USB3.0 and on the second they are not. But in this case, the controller chip on the motherboard is also missing, along with the strapping. Throwing out a webcam is also not easy, they are now almost all at 3V.
D+ and D- take from camera/bluetooth/express card. Minus and 5 volts from any other place (native USB ports, for example)

I don't think there is such a guide. You can start from the documentation for the circuits in which the usb controller “lives”, look at which legs what is displayed, but this whole idea is very muddy. If the goal is to add USB ports, then it is better to use an external hub or an Express card with a USB controller. In the latter case, you can even add USB 3 for example.
