Intermittent internet drops out on Ubuntu 11.04. In this case, the network (WiFi) is fine
The situation is this:
There is a laptop with an Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. Yukon Optima 88E8059 [PCIe Gigabit Ethernet Controller with AVB] (rev 11) , D-Link DIR-320 router . On an Ubuntu 11.04 laptop. The WiFi connection is stable, but the Internet disappears at an enviable frequency. That is, it simply does not exist either, and nm-applet shows that everything is in order with the network. After reconnecting to the network, the Internet reappears for a while, etc.
What could be the problem and how to deal with it?
Tried, did not help:
Create /etc/modprobe.d/ath9k.conf and write there:
options ath9k nohwcrypt=1
options ath5k nohwcrypt=1
Set backports: linux-backports-modules-net-natty-generic
Update the kernel:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kernel-ppa/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install linux-headers-2.6.39-0 linux-headers-2.6.39-0-generic linux-image- 2.6.39-0-generic --fix-missing
