I have been using Sweet Home 3D for a long time, for sketching out an approximate layout of a house / apartment. But now I run into its functionality, a couple of times I even had to export models from blender there. Now I'm looking in the direction of SketchUp, as I understand it, there is a database of real goods there. Stops a little that there is no version for Linux, you have to use the web version, does it have any worthy cross-platform competitors?

Actually, SketchUp is designed for architects. This tool is expandable to impossible. Usually they take Lumion or V-Ray to it (I have the latter). From books. V. Tozik, O. Ushakova. Sketchup Tutorial. And be sure to study two books by I. Petelin SketchUp - just 3D in two books, from simple to complex. Just careful and detailed. Then trample.
