Intercepting an event in Chrome

There was a task of writing an extension for the above browser, which will intercept the login and password when trying to login to client sites and offer to save it in the database for further convenience. In fact, it is an analogue of LastPass, but, unfortunately, this service, like all the others, is not suitable due to the fact that the authorities have paranoia over 9000, so the data must be stored on a corporate server. I myself have never written an extension before, so I turn to the habra community for help. Who can tell how you can intercept this event before the standard Chrome handler works? Thanks in advance

@taliban

Why would you want to capture him? Just when submitting any form, see if there is a password field in it, offer to save it and that's it =)
