Innodb_buffer_pool_instances - how much to bet?

We have 500 innodb tables with a total weight of 19GB. Only two of these tables weigh more than a gigabyte (7 Gb and 2 Gb) the rest are small
innodb_buffer_pool_size = 30G
mysqltuner suggests increasing innodb_buffer_pool_instances from the standard 8 instances to 30. Does this make sense? This will be 30 cache instances per gigabyte.
What is more efficient?

I see that you reduced the instance sizes to small sizes,
based on this article increased the number of instances
