Incredibly high traffic on ASUS RT-N16 - because of what?

Traffic is often over the top, at least according to the traffic manager.
The latest firmware version: 3.0.0.4.374_4561
Here is the log for the last 24 hours

Under the contract, the channel is 16Mbps.
The router has a DMZ configured on a Debian system (a laptop that is always connected to the network).
His logs are small. The router, even before setting up the DMZ, showed approximately the same amount of traffic.
Even when all network equipment was turned off all day, there were strange spikes in the graph.
Actually, tell me, please, is this normal and how to deal with it?

Your router is most likely ddosing-bruteforcing-breaking-shletspamming someone.
Hook into ssh, if possible, and see what kind of processes are spinning there at such moments.
