Incomprehensible doodles come out in a remote database. While in local everything works fine, what should I do?

Uploaded the site to McHost. Imported the database, everything went well. When creating a table, I indicated that the encoding is utf8_general_ci. But when I enter the data and send - something incomprehensible comes out. In those. I contacted support and they said they didn't know. Can you help?

@2fox

after connecting to the database, the first request to be sent
SET NAMES 'utf8';
sets the connection encoding in which the client exchanges with the server
