In which attribute should a user's middle name be stored in Active Directory?

Faced with the need to store the user's middle name in the AD directory as a separate attribute (there is a need for its separate processing - displayName parsing is not suitable).
Google says I'm not the only one with this problem.
So far I have found three options for storing the patronymic:

  1. "Manufacturing" your own string attribute (I would like to get good compatibility with products from MS, so this option is not an option)
  2. Editing the scheme to increase the upper border of the field of initials. In the same place in the comments it is written that causes problems with MS Exchange
  3. Using the Other-Name Attribute

So far I'm leaning towards the middleName option, but it's not clear to me whether Exchange and Sharepoint will process it? Perhaps they need some additional configuration so that, for example, in a contact card, Exchange shows the middle name of the user from middleName?
Perhaps there is a more correct solution to the problem of storing patronymic?

Score in a separate field and write the full name in the Description or DisplayName.
