In what format to upload the video?

Hello. I uploaded a video to the site through the tag, mp4 format. Everything plays well, but on phones and iPads it doesn’t work. Although if you put the controls="true" attribute and remove autoplay="true", then you can run this video on your phone and iPad and it will play normally. And if autoplay without controls, it does not want to. How to setup?
