In what area are programmers valued?

Dear colleagues! Since we all work in different areas, but we do one thing, I would like to know your opinion and experience: which direction is more highly paid and promising? (For example, web development, application programming or 1s, etc.)

> which direction is more highly paid and promising?
There's no such thing. No one gets paid for abstract knowledge of any language. Get paid for a specific job.
As an adequate example, a PHP programmer is paid less than a Java programmer on average. But Zuckerberg wrote Facebook in PHP and became one of the youngest billionaires in the world.
Therefore, you should not look for a direction, but for the work itself.
The better you become as a specialist, the easier it will be for you to find a job and the more choice you will have.

Programmers are valued in companies developing their product. Where development to order programmers are usually valued less.

The question is very complex and there are a lot of nuances:
- depending on the company/field. In state institutions they do not appreciate and do not pay (unless, of course, you are not the director's son). Not to mention budgetary organizations. Most likely, start-ups or companies where the chain of command is the least paid.
- still depends on the city. Moscow / St. Petersburg, of course - they pay the most, regardless of the area.
you'd better look at the unloading of programmers' salaries on the sites hh.ru and similar exchanges, for a specific city.

The main qualitative result of any work within the established time frame, within the limits and with the implementation of the planned budget. And if, in addition to this, you also advise colleagues, help other employees (friends), advise something useful to the leader, then it will generally be super! For this they will pay, for this they will try to keep such an employee, if a freelancer, then for this they will try to hire him. So you should always improve yourself and smile back, giving positive emotions to others!
Absolutely any area!
