The fact is that by default, when you click the selection button in the field containing a link to a directory element, a form for selecting a directory element opens. It may not always be convenient, especially when the directory is non-hierarchical and obviously contains a small number of elements.
The Quick selection property just allows you to select elements not from a separate form, but from a small drop-down list filled with elements of this directory (Fig. 3.68).

We did not set the Quick selection property for the rest of the directories, since the Nomenclature is a hierarchical directory, and, therefore, a quick selection does not make sense for it. And the list of employees and, especially, the list of clients can be very large, and in this case the drop-down list will be inconvenient to scroll.
