In Mint 17.3, how can I make it so that when a window is hovered over the top of the screen, the window expands instead of being fixed half the screen up?

Since 2009 I have been interested in distr. Ubuntu, but got curious and found mint in the top 10. Faced with a large bunch of unusual inconveniences. Tell me how to fix it?
ps And maybe I don’t understand something, but you can only bind a window to the top and bottom (At the same time, it doesn’t bind to the bottom, but only shows animation), but not to the left to the right.

Good afternoon, as I understand you mean tiling.
Use the keyboard shortcut "super" + "->" and "super" + "<-"
