iMac question. Is it possible?
Hello!
Not so long ago there was an opportunity to purchase an iMac.
The choice fell on a model with a frequency of 2.7 GHz and a 21.5-inch screen.
These computers are very captivating with their design and chic display. Yes, and the characteristics are very worthy.
The problem is, I've never had a Mac before, and I've never worked on OS X.
I'm interested in the question, can I install a virtual machine or another full-fledged OS on it?
Interested in Windows 7 or 8 (since I need to program in c # under Visual Studio)
And Ubuntu of any version. It is also very useful for educational purposes.
The main thing is that the studio is fully functional.
Tell me, who knows what problems may arise? Can it be done?

An honest partition for Windows can be selected directly from OS X in one click using the standard Bootcamp utility . I have never installed Ubuntu on a poppy, I think there are ways.
Of course, there are virtual machines (Virtual Box, Parallels Desktop, etc.)
I myself am not familiar yet, but I often saw recommendations from Parallels Desktop for Mac in similar and similar cases . At what I was personally interested.
I do Frontend development on iMac. The flight is excellent. Bought a Parallels Desktop. It runs several virtual machines at the same time (Win XP + IE8, Win 7 + IE9, Win 7 + IE 10, Win 8 + IE 11, Ubuntu + Linux browsers). Everything works like clockwork, Parallels Descktop allows you to very flexibly configure the allocated resources for virtual machines, so don't expect any slowdowns.
If desired, of course, no one bothers to install Windows as a second system using the Bootcamp utility.
