The other day I bought a smartphone A7 2018, it has Corning Gorilla Glass, is a protective glass necessary? Or would it be a waste of money?

no matter how much I used smartphones with such glass (I have iPhones since the time of 3Gs), I have never glued any films or glass.
everything is fine.
