If the server is dead, how to inform the user that the site is down?

In general, a situation arose that the server on which the site stands died. What options are there to inform the user that the site is not working (for example, technical work is being carried out) and will be restored during such and such a time?

To do this, you need to spread the proxy / nginx and back / python / php / etc on two different machines
Or use cloudflare

I would advise you to make exceptions when a fatal error occurs and if this error occurs, display a 404 error template and send a notification to the site owner by mail

It is urgent to find a hosting and upload the last backup of the site there. Transfer the domain to this hosting. As the server comes to life - return everything back. It if the server fell not for one day.
No other way.
