Please tell me, if the programmers created a sitemap for me without the .xml extension, will it be indexed by the search engine normally? or must there be an extension in the .xml file?

For me it looks like this: www.site/ua/rus/sitemap/

Good afternoon.
Try adding a link to this sitemap in the google search console or Yandex webmaster and these systems will tell you if this format is suitable.
