If a TrueCrypt container is mounted and the power goes out suddenly. What consequences?

Good afternoon. What can happen to a mounted container if the power goes out suddenly? That is, can the container itself be damaged by this and can it turn out that I can not access the files, or will only the files in use (from the container) at the moment be affected?
Also interested in how things are in this situation if you use not a container, but encryption of the entire disk / partition?
