Is BitLocker encryption secure?

Can BitLocker encryption be trusted (is the algorithm hackable)? Or is it better to choose some open source solutions like TrueCrypt?

What specifically do you use?

If you want to encrypt data from a random user (for example, in case of loss), then encrypt with anything. If from the special services or similar serious uncles, rectal thermal cryptanalysis cracks any password in less than five minutes. In both cases, it is absolutely on the drum whether TPM is supported or not :)

From random people, both will protect perfectly.
And you yourself will give everything to non-random people, even from the disguised TC section.
Conclusion - use what is more convenient.

BitLocker supports TPM, and possibly Trusted Boot, but I'm not sure about the latter. TrueCrypt does not support TPM.
TPM is the encryption chip on the motherboard. You can store keys in it, you can encrypt it yourself (but very slowly), and, most interestingly, you can make it so that the correct decryption key will be issued only if no boot file substitutions have been made. But this still will not save you from a RAM dump.

No.
Yes.
I don't encrypt.
And, sorry, but judging by the question, you shouldn't either.
