ICQ for Windows and Android
There are several Windows computers. For many years, the icq client "rat" has been serving faithfully on each . The client's files are in Dropbox, so both the client itself and the entire history are available on all computers.
I have been using an Android tablet and smartphone for a couple of years now, and I really lack a client that could cling to an existing story with Dropbox. Of course, I’m very used to the “rat” and I’m reluctant to say goodbye to it, but I understand that in order to implement my idea, I’ll have to tie it up :)
What are the current clients that work under Windows and Android and store history in the cloud?

Yes, there are few rat users, but their view of history often coincides. I myself use a similar solution, only i.disk due to the presence of webdav.
And at the moment I see the solution to the problem in XEP-0136 for jabber + transport. There is Xabber for Android, it remains to choose a reliable server that supports this XEP. But I cannot switch to this solution due to the fact that on my computer I am not ready to tolerate applications from authors with a non-rat view of history. I don't want age discrimination for messages, I want messages aged 1 second and 4 years old to be in 1 window, I want to be able to select a piece of history and copy. Once I spent a lot of time, but I did not find a solution.
look at trillian . very cool client, have been with him for several years :)
