I work as a coder with an eye on the front-end. The guide imposes learning PHP Laravel. Is it worth agreeing?

I work as a layout designer. Strong knowledge of JS. Was aiming for growth as a JS Dev.
Now there are options:
1) The manual imposes the study of PHP Laravel.
2) And there is a separate offer, where they are called to WP + layout with a salary 2 times higher.
Is it worth agreeing? Why?
Is it in demand?

Developer WP is a sadly outdated cumbersome hell that's not nice to touch.
Laravel for Developers is a modern, rapidly developing and very popular framework.
Well, is it worth climbing out of the front - a purely individual question. If the backend is interesting, why not?

WP + layout is a niche where all housewives, juniors, Indians and other low-skilled personnel live. They will gladly work for three kopecks, so it is hardly worth developing in this direction.
A good JS front-ender with knowledge of several JS frameworks or at least one framework, but very good, very much appreciated.
And even more valued fullstack. Therefore, PHP will never be superfluous :)

"Strong knowledge of JS" - they will also come in handy in Laravel, they will not be lost. If you want to grow in this company, it's better to start with WP, there will be more projects. Then I advise you to deal with MVC (Model-View-Controller), unless of course you are not familiar with it. Further, if you get tired of wordpress, you can move towards the frameworks, if you stay in this company then Laravel. Well, or you can forget about these "impositions" at all and talk with the management on the subject that you want to deal specifically with the front and you are not interested in other topics if they understand the norms, if not, then now they will take good specialists everywhere, there are many companies, vacancies too. By the way, the frontend is now no less profitable or in demand than the backend.
