I want to know the external IP address?
It so happened that you need to find out the external ip address. I work at the university as an enikey worker, there is an electronic library with ip addresses with a server, but without Internet access. Tell me how you can find out the external ip address of devices that do not use the Internet? to go into a closed local network and how to find out the external IP address if there is no Internet?

traceroute may not show any external address even in cases where it is not killed in any way. For example, let's say we have a mesh with a router 192.168.1.0/24, which has an external IP address of 192.0.1.2 with a single route through 192.0.1.1, and we do a traceroute, then we are answered:
1. Our host.
2. Router 192.168.1.1.
3. External network router 192.0.1.1.
4....
There is no 192.0.1.2 here. But even 192.0.1.1 can respond not with this address, but with some thread 178.24.3.16. And it may not respond to the ICMP echo request at all, then there will be an empty line in the trace, or it may not reduce the TTL of transit packets, then it will not be visible at all.
Better ask your network admins.
