I spilled water on my laptop. What to do?

Hello.
Today I got poisoned by shawarma, and I feel very bad, my head is spinning.
I started pouring water into the kettle on the table and dropped the bottle on my laptop. The keyboard is a little wobbly. , I immediately threw a rag on top and wiped it, then turned it over and shook it. It seems to work, but I'm afraid that the water has remained inside and will soon make itself felt.
What do you advise? Worth taking apart?

Take out the battery, go to the bathroom and hang the laptop on the towel dryer.

Washing with alcohol.
The method is based on the following properties:
1. alcohol is miscible with water in any proportion;
2. alcohol evaporates much faster than water;
3. alcohol does not conduct electricity.
Yes, I understand that in practice, few people will do this, but still I will leave it here, because. someone might find it useful.

  • You need to turn off your laptop. Then take out the battery. And don't turn it on until it's dry. I would set aside a couple of days for drying. You can also use a not very hot hair dryer. Otherwise, even a seemingly working keyboard may become unusable without the possibility of repair (only a replacement will be possible, and a laptop is never a PC where you can simply re-plug it).
    PS It is strange that you first decided to wipe, and then drain. It is intuitively clear which is better in the other sequence. And you did not describe, but apparently it all happened with a working laptop. Hence, the main advice is to turn it off. A de-energized keyboard cannot be damaged by water before it dries. Also with the rest of the components (although deep water penetration is not your case, so omit that).

It was almost the same for me - I dried it and continued to use it. It took about 3 months and problems started with charging, then with overheating. I gave it to the service, they untwisted it, and there is horror. Part of the board is corroded. They said if they immediately brought it to the service, they would dry it in detail and possibly use some kind of ultrasonic bath.

Shut down as soon as possible. Pull out the battery. Disassemble and wipe everything. You can turn off the watch battery. Then dry until everything is warm and looks dry. Then dry again and check again. Ideally, rinse with alcohol. Do not rush to collect - it is better to dry it again than to throw out the laptop later.

Water has to be brought. Dry, wipe. Otherwise it will rot, it's a matter of time.
Back in 2006, I flooded my first laptop with live gum. He lived in a hostel at the university, stabbed with dudes in the counter, put a mug of gum next to the laptop and, in a playful impulse, turned the mug over to the laptop. Filled notably, sugar, all the buttons stuck together. Ass.
How they treated
- they disassembled completely
- they washed everything, they did it under a steam generator at 180 degrees (this is how cartridges for inkjet printers are soaked)
- they put it in an electric oven for 24 hours at a temperature of 60 degrees
.
It's 2019, and the laptop is still working at my aunt's house. They don't make them anymore)

Turn off, remove the battery (!). Further, if there is no tool and direct hands - to the service, even if it works. It can work for a couple more weeks after flooding, until something rots. Or maybe in a couple of hours, but if you remove the battery, then in a couple of days nothing will happen that cannot be repaired.
If you have a tool and straight arms, take it apart and see where the water got in.
And there - according to the situation. Klava to dry, and keep in mind that you may have to buy a new one.
If it gets on the board, we wash it with isopropyl alcohol (it is sold in radio parts stores), dry it, and put it back. After removing the cooling system, we change the thermal paste, if there were rubber bands and torn, it is also advisable to change them (do not smear a bunch of thermal paste instead of them!).
If it gets on the cover of the laptop - we disassemble it, look anywhere at the matrix and / or camera - it may be enough just to wipe and dry, or maybe change it.

Only alcohol, and everything else is delayed death. Alcohol is hygroscopic and will bind water, and then evaporate everything out. Applies to any electronics.
