I'm assembling a computer: what about RAM and mat. fees?
I'm building a computer. I chose the processor and video card for myself.
Processor: i5-10600K
Video: GTX 1070 Ti
I can't figure out 2 details:
1) If the processor specifications indicate the type of memory DDR4-2666, then you need to look at 2666 MHz RAM?
2) Do I need a Z490 motherboard if I already take such a processor (K)? - Will I overclock the RAM from 2666 MHz if the process says DDR4-2666?

The situation with the possibility of overclocking Intel and memory is ambiguous and changes from generation to generation. In the current only Z chipset allows overclocking CPU and memory, on other chipsets overclocking is disabled. Accordingly, if the motherboard is Z490, then it can and makes sense to take processors with the letter K and memory with a frequency higher than indicated in the processor description. But with all other chipsets, unlocked processors and memory with a high frequency do not make sense, since they will work at the frequencies indicated in the description.
So the answer to both questions depends on the motherboard.
1. If the chipset is Z490, then you can look at any memory and check its support in the description of the motherboard. If the chipset is different, then only 2666 (well, or whatever is in the description of the processor).
2. If the processor is with the letter K, then it is logical to take the Z490 motherboard to it, otherwise the meaning of this very letter K disappears. The ability to overclock the memory is determined by the chipset.
