I did not pay for hosting and the provider took the site, changed the password and put up ads. What can be done?

With the support of the site, the money ran out and access to the site was blocked. When the money appeared, I decided to switch to another provider, but found that my site was working, ads appeared on it, and access to the administration panel was closed. I'm thinking of writing a letter to the provider, but I don't know what to rely on in this situation, how to prove that the site is mine. If anyone knows or has been in a similar situation, please let me know.

First of all, contact the hosting in those. support.
Or maybe you didn't pay for the domain? If so, then the domain has passed to a new owner.

Yes, they didn't remove it (about 500 pages). And I didn't think about checks for payment, thank you very much!

Save the domain, deploy to another hosting, restore the site from a backup there. Well, the name of the hosting studio, the country must know its heroes. The standard practice of hosting is to first kill the speed, then turn it off, delete it after a couple of weeks of non-payment, all with a bunch of reminder letters, but to do as you described is something new and unhealthy.

In general, the proof that the site is yours is access to the email address to which your account was registered with the hosting provider. You restore the password to your account if you forgot, and then it depends on the hoster what rules for storing content he has. Most often, it is stored only for a limited time.
