I can't update Windows 10, what could be the problem?

Now there is version 10240, it is already outdated, but the computer is not automatically updated to the new version - security updates and other trifles come, but not an update of the OS version. I tried to install this update via add. programs from Microsoft ( https://www.microsoft.com/ru-ru/software-download/... but nothing comes out - the update is downloaded, the reboot starts and that's it - when everything reboots, nothing happens, only the usual download of Windows, as if they did not update anything, but simply rebooted the computer. What could it be?

I also had such a problem on an ultrabook due to the specifics of the disks: I use a 24 GB SSD as a system one, which was originally intended for caching the main HDD. Naturally, there is not enough space for updating, and by the way, this also happened just on release 10240.
I solved it this way: I created an additional temporary partition of 60 GB on the HDD, cloned the system one there, made it bootable and restarted from it. Then, in a normal way, I upgraded to release 15063 (no problems arose), deleted everything unnecessary from this partition (brought it to 15 ... 16 GB), cloned it back to the SSD, and then returned the boot status to the SSD. Restarted - everything works OK, there is about a third of free space on the SSD (which is quite enough for it to live). And most importantly, nowThe update is going well , I specifically checked it. Those. in the future, this feint is most likely not required. And the temporary partition, if everything went OK, now you can delete
Well, and you, if the reason is the same, and there is additional disk space - just increase the size of the system partition due to the nearest larger one with any advanced partition manager (they can do this without losing data).

Download the current distribution kit 1703 and run it from under Windows - it usually helps.
