I can not decide android or php?
Good afternoon, I want to start learning programming, but I can’t decide on android or php,
android is more interesting but there are very few vacancies, in my city at the moment there are only 4 vacancies and not for juniors, in php, on the contrary, there are a lot of vacancies, but php seemed boring to me , I can't decide. I don’t want to sit for a long time in search of work, of course, I understand that there is a lot to learn and understand for both directions, and it will not be possible to settle down right away. Can you give me some advice or just give me your opinion. Thanks in advance.

He himself entered IT as an Android Developer. Pros offhand:
1. Java is a wonderful statically typed OOP language, although very old and verbose.
2. The entry threshold is much higher, which makes the competition much lower
3. Career growth is very fast

In android, the growth from junior to middle is quite fast because there is little there in terms of technology - if you don’t deal with games, games on android are a completely different area with different knowledge requirements.
If php is not interesting at all, then take care of android. Just don't tell anyone that you have no work experience, make a couple of copies of simple applications from the play market and that's it, that's work experience for you.
Imagine both development options:
1. If you learn php that didn't impress you, will you be happy to work on it in 1-5 years?
2. If you learn an android that you like, but there is no way to find a job yet, will you be happy in 1-5 years?
Don't think short term. It will take you about a year just to study the java + android SDK with writing several projects, and there may be an internship or an opportunity to go to another city.
PS If I were you, I would choose an android, it is important to feel interest in the work that you do.
