Power Supply
ST0PY, 2020-02-02 20:25:37

I bought a power supply more than necessary, will there be problems ??

According to calculations, the system should consume 400 watts at the maximum. When assembling a PC, I got stupid and listened to the consultant and bought a 750W unit. And today ran 700 kilowatts. Is the PC using the full power of the power supply? Or does he take his 400 and the rest is not used?

Exactly! So there is nothing to worry about. On the contrary, the existing underload in terms of power leads to easier operation of the PSU and contributes to its durability, and for future upgrades of the computer, having a reserve in advance is a good thing.
Not always consultants say something useful to the user (they are supposed to suck in what is useful to the store), but in this case it coincided.
And today ran 700 kilowatts.
How long did it run? And how do you distinguish the electricity that the computer consumes from the rest of the consumers in the apartment? If a computer does not have a separate counter, then this can only be done by calculation.
