I am writing a diploma on the topic of information security of web resources, can you suggest interesting materials in this area?

I want to understand whether there are developments in the direction of the security of web resources, well-known works or experimental data on protection against attacks. Thank you.

Get started with OWASP

The topic is more than extensive. Read about the types of attacks on OWASP. I also recommend this resource https://pentesterlab.com. To understand how the attacker operates.
And so your description is very vague.
Here's another book I recommend.

Well, what about https? As for attacks, ask hosters how they deal with DDoS, for example (but they are unlikely to tell you about it). Go here and here - there is a lot of useful stuff.

The question is rather vague. There is no such protection that would fit under 100% of web applications.
You can write to me on Skype - luka.safonov - I will try to help you with your question.

There is an excellent book - Web Application Hackers Handbook. In it, the author talks about problem areas and approaches to breaking web applications, and also gives recommendations for protection. Much of this book overlaps with OWASP. I would say one complements the other.
