Task: to provide on HTML5, without third-party plug-ins (that is, only in the default iOS and Android browsers) the display of multi-rez panoramas. First of all, the so-called. gigapixel panoramas. Like this: ekburg.artstudio-3d.ru (only works on flash).

I myself use KRPano - excellent software. But no, and there are no plans to support HTML5 for multi-cutting yet.

They advised WebGL, but now I read the wiki, they write that it is in safari, but disabled by default.

Recently there was an article here about creating the Belarus Land application ( http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pplware.b360), now for some reason it is hidden in drafts. They wrote in WebGL, as far as I remember. There is no multi-cut, but the smooth and accurate display even on Android 2.3 impressed me very much.

I myself, of course, will not master and will not even try. But in order to set a task for those who could, you need to understand “what do you need to do on it ?!”.

Another thing that gnaws at me: since there are still no such implementations, is it still unrealistic in principle?

First, KRPano has a plugin for working with HTML5, available with the purchase of a license. They have examples of HTML5 panoramas on their site.
Secondly, if you cannot write your application for Android without Flash, the built-in browser does not yet support HTML (on Android 4.0.1)/
