Copying pictures can lead to a decrease in the position of the site or even search engines may not release it in the TOP. Plus, there was a real example when we decided to copy photos of goods and after some time the owner of the site called and demanded to delete all his taken photos. Therefore, until the photos of the goods are ready, it is better not to take strangers. In the end, there are blanks for photos, ask the designer to draw.

Of course, I'm not an expert, but I have not heard that search engines index images.
I think it's quite safe to take pictures, especially if you run them through some kind of filter, resize, add a watermark and add an alt. Especially if this is a temporary solution for you until you make your own.
