How widely is jQuery now used?

Monitored vacancies at Junior Front-end Developer. They suspiciously rarely mention JQuery. Does it even make sense to study it *deeply* in 2017?

jQuery has ceased to be the locomotive of the js world and has gone into the shadow of any React. They don't talk about it at conferences (and what can I say? everything has been known for a long time), it has become fashionable among fashionable dudes to scold him, but jQ is still one of the most used libraries in the real world.
Knowing how to use it is a must, of course. Moreover, to use it with minimal understanding, otherwise such things are found on govnokod.ru that the blood runs cold. The fact is that the ease of use of jQ is corrupting and many people generally stop thinking about what is happening under the hood.
As for "deep learning" - the question is already more controversial. If you just use it, it seems like there is nothing special to study deeply. If you study the device in order to write your libraries - it's worth it, there is a lot of instructive.

Study - no. Use - yes. Treat it like syntactic sugar. Yes, and knowledge of jQuery at the level of hiding / showing a block, reading / writing a value covers 80% of JS tasks. Sliders, popups and more complex things are implemented in other libraries.
