Career in IT

How, where and by whom to start a career in the IT industry?

I am finishing my second year and the question arises of how and where to get a job? I love C ++, I constantly write some small programs for the first year. From something more or less big, only a game like Crimsonland on SFML, but everything is very bad there (raw pointers, lack of const in principle, shoving vector where list can be dispensed with, etc.), because I wrote it when I knew almost nothing. I read a couple more books on C# and Rust, but I haven't written anything other than "training" programs for less than 100 lines. I am very attracted to work in gamedev, with unity I dabbled a little.
Actually, where can you go to work with so far such a meager set of knowledge and skills? What to write for a portfolio (please do not offer a banal calculator)? Should I go to some free courses, for example, at EPAM?

The main thing is to do what you like. And we will be happy for you. Otherwise, you won't succeed.
With a meager set of knowledge, it is better to go practice for free with a mentor.
When you start writing at least something useful, then you can already work for money

Now the most profitable is to be a cybersportsman, I would choose this direction)

Look for any internship as a sisnik, where they will take you. And then, when you get basic experience and seniority, you can choose the industry and direction of development.

we take and do something similar to what people have already done, only in our own way, this is enough to show that you can write / use the necessary tools as needed, and not stupidly copy-paste. Take something old but interesting as a basis, implement it as best you can and, if you can, better than it was. Here is the project for you.
