How to write a frontend for an SVN server?

The server is running apache2 running a website (php/wordpress) and a Subversion server with a single project repository (DAV SVN). I would like to write a small wrapper in php, if possible, that would at least display the commit log in the repository on one of the pages of the site.
Where to dig?
