How to wrap a string in OpenOffice?

How to find and wrap a string with bold (or other formatting) text in brackets. Example: text -> (text).
I put the search with the bold format, replace with $ (regular expressions are enabled), but when I click the replace all button, it says that the search word has been replaced, but nothing changes.

Replace: (&)
Regular expressions: incl.
