How to work with multiple disks?

There is a server on which there is a database. On the server, there are 2tb of space. The place ends.

I took another disk and added it according to the instructions https ://upcloud.com/community/tutorials/adding-rem....
Now it looks like this:

NAME MAJ:MIN RM SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINT
vda 252:0 0 1960G 0 disk
└─vda1 252:1 0 1960G 0 part /
vdb 252:16 0 400G 0 disk
└─vdb1 252:17 0 400G 0 part /disk1

The database is spinning in docker and the volume is connected to /var/lib/database

How to work with a connected disk?

If the database does not fit on one of the disks, then there are several options.

  1. Partitioning MyQSL
  2. Raid
  3. LVM

The last two, without redundancy, are unreliable.

Most likely, you are accumulating historical data that can be aggregated and archived or transferred to cheaper media.
Or, as Sanes correctly said - to partition.
