How to work with a local repository and instantly see changes on the server?

There is a repository clone on ubuntu in virualbox'e. The folder is shared for windows via samba. I make the change in a text editor -> save -> and refresh the browser page to see the result. Everything is good, except that the checkout or diff commands take a very long time (about a minute or more).
How can I work with a local clone of the repository on win, instantly see the changes on the server, and push commits only on github?
ps I know about clean repositories, but in order for the change to get to the local server, you need to push the commit to the clean repo.
