How to work productively for 8 hours?
Now I got a job as a project manager at a new workplace and faced such a problem that I cannot work productively 8 hours a day. My responsibilities include communication with the customer, setting, monitoring tasks, writing technical documentation and the whole load is calculated on the fact that I will work stably for 8 hours without downtime, stupidity, etc., but physically this cannot be done - in reality it turns out 5-6 for managerial work and 3-4 for writing technical documentation. Then the brain refuses to work. Because of this, I do not have time to do my tasks and the working day stretches for 10-12 hours.
I'm wondering how to increase my productivity and am I the only one with this problem?

Just understand that biology does not have to submit to the market, which is very eager to convince you otherwise. You will increase productivity in a non-natural way - you will write about burnout, thoughtlessness, loss of interest in life ... etc. And natural - only time and conclusions.
brain productivity decreases after 4 hours of work, such a human body and it has been established by scientists, in order to increase this time it is necessary to be distracted for five minutes from work at least once an hour (that’s why I can’t quit smoking)), lunch time will also help relax and unwind. But usually it's just 6 hours of productivity.
If the job is very stressful, I recommend changing jobs, because. this will affect in the future not only health, but also the attitude towards others, depression may occur. In general, work should be fun and not stressful.
I work 7-8 hours, take small breaks to go out, walk 10-15 minutes, do a little stretching. you need to remember that the brain quickly gets tired of doing monotonous work, it needs a change of activity + a little relaxation. I think I am efficient 90% of the time.
But the most important thing is to have a real interest in what you are doing! If your eyes are burning and you like everything, then there will be no questions about how to work effectively!

I want to supplement other answers with practical advice:
1. automation
2. delegation
3. filtering
4. prioritization (from where it becomes clear what to delegate, what to do, and what to throw out or postpone)
5. planning and goal setting
6. rest and other safety rules
7 more tips for effective time management (there are a lot of them)
8. self-development, training and various training techniques
And most importantly: money != productivity != efficiency and even more so != time spent.
No breaks - nothing.
I would hone my skills here, automate typical tasks. If possible, I would alternate tasks. For example, work your head, do a simple/routine task.
Read the book "Biohacking the Brain". I tried to apply the recommendations in practice - a lot works there.
+ use the "tomato principle".
