How to win ebay auctions?

Hello! Recently I ran into a situation: I found the webcam I needed at an auction, there were about 2 bids. 10 minutes before the end of the auction, the price tag began to increase and, accordingly, the number of bids. 5 seconds before the end, she set her bid, which was significantly higher than the previous ones. In the end, the item was won by another person who somehow placed a bid at the last second. Can you please tell me if there is some kind of bot or program for automatic bets?

Yes, there are ebay bots. They are very easy to find. They exist for a very long time.

You will still laugh, but that person most likely did not bet at the last second, and it’s not a fact that he used some kind of software.
On eBay, there is such a mechanism.
Let's say the item is currently priced at $50, the increment is $1, there are no bids, there's a lot of time until the end of the auction (hours, days, doesn't matter).
You find this lot, decide to win it, and make a bid? Probably $51, right?
And here you make a fatal mistake. When you place a bid, you must write the maximum amount you are willing to spend on this item, BUT after you bid, it will display that current bid = previous bid + auction step. The fact that you are willing to spend a little more, no one knows.
In our case, for example, you are willing to spend $70. So, in the bidding field you write these 70 bucks, but on the lot page your bid will be displayed at $51. And if no one else wants to bid on the lot, you automatically win it for $51, despite the fact that you were willing to spend $70.
Let's say there was another hunter for this lot, and he is ready to spend, say, $75. When he submits this bid, the bid history for the lot will look something like this:
And you are in flight.
From personal experience, I won such cool headphones once.
Oh, and a little puff .
UPD :
The link above contains the following paragraph: "We recommend placing bids as close as possible to the end of the auction. This will avoid excessive markup on the cost of the lot when several buyers compete. Otherwise, if you indicate your maximum bid long before the end of the auction, your competitors will try to beat it, which will lead to an unreasonable increase in the current bidding price."
Some respondents wrote about bots, they are also called "ebay snipers". So, by and large, the whole profit from them is that they make your maximum bid a few seconds before the end of the auction, without showing your interest in the lot for a long time before the end of the auction, so as not to wind up the price of the lot for nothing.
