How to watch errors in AndEngine?

I started to study AndEngine, I can’t understand where errors are displayed, where to look?
The errors are the same. And the errors in the code are different. An error is thrown:

java.lang.NullPointerException: Attempt to invoke virtual method 'void org.andengine.engine.Engine.start()' on a null object reference
        at org.andengine.ui.activity.BaseGameActivity.onResumeGame(BaseGameActivity.java:223)
