I share my experience.
Technological machine, delivered by me in 2004 (the secret of setting up mars_nwe, the Novell Neware emulator, has long been lost).

An hdd is taken out of it and its raw image is made with the dd command
. Then in the same way - another, third, fourth ...
Through the StarWind converter (or whatever you find) - the raw image is distilled into vmdk
vmdk is placed on the host side
A machine is created, existing disks are connected to it .
