How to use question mark in robotx.txt?

Hello, the essence of the question: will I close everything that comes after /catalog/?section= by writing a rule?
Disallow: /catalog/?section=
It just confuses the question mark, or is it a regular symbol that does not carry any additional meaning, such as an asterisk *.
