How to use MozAfterPaint?

MozAfterPaint does not work in the new version of Firefox. At least the code provided for this event at developer.mozilla.org/en/Gecko-Specific_DOM_Events does not work in version 8. If you run version 3.6, it works.
Question: what to use in new versions?
