How to use a forwarded video card in Vmware?
Perhaps this is a noob question, perhaps I don’t understand something fundamental, but after half a day of googling it turned out to be only a headache: D
Task: to have a virtual machine on vmware in which you can run Inventor, 3d max and other heavy and chewing things.
Resource: ESXI 6.0 on a host with a Quadro K4000 in addition to the usual GeForce 8600GT vidyuhi.
There was a lot of reading about vSGA, vDGA, vGPU and all that. On vGPU, I even managed to try to install firewood from the Nvidia website - but of course it didn’t take off. Okay, I made it easy. I threw Quadro into a virtual machine (Win7) - this, thank God, unlike KVM, is done here in a couple of clicks (hello, KVM!). Quadro was found in the virtual machine without any problems, firewood was installed, the device works fine.
