How to upload a video to a user's channel?

In the Video section , you can create your own channels and add videos to them. Unfortunately (why?) you cannot add a video by link, for example, from Youtube, as it is possible in other sections. Is it then possible to upload videos to a channel via the REST API? The video methods do not contain any parameters for channels.
