How to update the Bitrix.catalog component correctly?

Good evening, tell me how to update the catalog component?
I started developing the site a month ago and copied the catalog component template.
Now I installed the demo template and saw that the developers corrected a lot of things there. which is what I need now.
We replaced some components, so the essence of the question is that I will replace the components myself with handles in my template, but my settings for the catalog component are different.
Tell me how can I transfer the settings of the catalog component to my template? I tried to transfer the .parameters file but it did not help

Perhaps I misunderstood you. If you need to transfer the component settings to yourself, then open the page where the component is placed in a text editor and copy the component call ($APPLICATION->IncludeComponent()).
